Overview

For several years the company approached sustainability on a linear, step-by-step basis. This was not inherently incorrect but could be limiting in terms of impact, review processes and context.

Recently, the company has conceptualised sustainability and how it should be applied to provide integration and more impact; a cross-cutting ecosystem integrated from the top to the operational level. It is envisioned with various interrelated components within a diverse and ever-changing global and local socio-economic, environmental and political context.

Select elements of the company’s Sustainability Ecosystem Blueprint are outlined below, which are grouped under:

Governance, strategy & policy;
Tools, assessment and processes (including value chain);
Implementation & initiatives; and
Communication (internal and external engagement) and disclosure.

Sustainability model

As with our evolving approach towards a Sustainability Ecosystem, our Sustainability Model integrates the three (3) Spheres of sustainability, our sustainability focus areas, our approach and core sustainability objective. There are no mutually exclusive relations between one element and the next but multiple inter-relational links across all elements.

Sime Darby Property 2030 Sustainability Goals
