It has come to the attention of SIME DARBY BERHAD that there have been recent incidents of entities/companies and individuals misrepresenting themselves fraudulently as companies related to or within the Sime Darby Group of Companies ( Sime Darby Group ) and employees and/or representatives of the Sime Darby Group . These incidents include (1) an alleged tender for the construction of 20 bungalow units at Tower 4 @ PFCC, Puteri Road ?, Puteri Town Puchong, Selangor awarded by an entity known as Sime Darby Development; (2) an alleged contract for the supply of food and drink to employees awarded by an entity known as Sime Darby Development Sdn Bhd or Sime Darby Development Berhad, and there may be other awards or tenders fraudulently using the Sime Darby name.

Sime Darby Berhad ( SDB or  Company ) and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sime Darby Property Berhad ( SDP ) would like to clarify that Sime Darby Development, Sime Darby Development Sdn Bhd and Sime Darby Development Berhad are not companies within the Sime Darby Group. The Sime Darby Group has never awarded or entered into any contract of any kind under the name of Sime Darby Development, Sime Darby Development Sdn Bhd or Sime Darby Development Berhad.

In addition, SDB and SDP have never received any payment purportedly made in favour of Sime Darby Development for any reasons or purposes whatsoever.

Police reports have been lodged in relation to the above matters. The public should be wary of such entities/companies and individuals, and in the case of doubt, is advised to contact the Company immediately. The Sime Darby Group will not be responsible to any persons, firms or companies who fail to take the necessary steps or actions to verify the identity of such entities or individuals, and suffer any loss or damage as a result.
