ARA DAMANSARA, 19 DECEMBER 2025 –– Sime Darby Property Berhad (“Sime Darby Property” or the “Group”) continues to deliver meaningful impact through a series of targeted corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) initiatives, empowering communities and promoting environmental stewardship across Malaysia.

Participants celebrate their achievements at the graduation ceremony of the Sime Darby Property Economic Empowerment Programme at KLGCC.
Guided by its commitment towards inclusive growth and responsible development, the Group’s CSR efforts focus on economic empowerment, youth development and environmental stewardship, strengthening community resilience while improving quality of life.
A key pillar of the Group’s CSR agenda is its Economic Empowerment Programme (“EEP”), which supports microentrepreneurs within Sime Darby Property’s townships. In 2025, 39 entrepreneurs graduated from Phase 2 of the programme, recording an average income growth of 242%, with 79% achieving higher monthly earnings averaging RM7,643.

Participants also recorded a 110% average increase in business knowledge, while 87% expanded their digital presence through platforms such as TikTok and WhatsApp Business, enhancing market reach and long-term sustainability. Delivered in partnership with People Systems Consultancy, the programme reflects the Group’s focus on building resilient, self-sustaining local businesses.
Among the programme’s success stories is that of Noradini Haji Abdul Razak, a homebased food entrepreneur from Bandar Bukit Raja. After completing the EEP, she diversified her product offerings, secured larger catering contracts, and hired a fulltime staff member, transforming her business while caring for her husband, a lymphoma patient. Her monthly income has since increased by 900%.
“Before this programme, I never had the courage to take on large catering orders or grow beyond my comfort zone. Through the guidance and support provided, I gained the confidence to rebuild not just my business, but myself. Today, I have expanded my products, hired staff, and reached new markets,” said Noradini.

Beyond economic empowerment, Sime Darby Property’s CSR initiatives extend to youth development, education and cultural enrichment. Through the Sime Darby Property Volunteers Programme, 733 volunteers contributed close to 3,000 hours in service to local communities. The Fabric Recycling Movement Campaign collected 81,640.1 kilogrammes of unwanted fabrics, supporting circular economy practices by diverting textile waste from landfills and encouraging responsible consumption.
The Group’s Back-To-School Programme supported 894 students from 10 schools across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, helping students prepare for the academic year. Youth leadership was further encouraged through collaboration with Kesatuan Ragbi Selangor, engaging 130 students from nine schools in the Petaling Perdana District and fostering discipline, teamwork and confidence.

Cultural appreciation was also nurtured through Dance Workshops at SK Setapak Indah and SK Putra Heights 2, where more than 540 students were introduced to Zapin, a traditional Malay dance known for its intricate footwork and rhythmic expression. Led by 24 trainers and supported by approximately 60 teachers, the workshops provided students with an immersive learning experience that complements holistic student development.
Environmental sustainability remains an integral part of the Group’s CSR approach. Through initiatives such as “Hooked on Biodiversity: Invasive Fish Out, Native Species In”, 24 volunteers participated in efforts to restore ecological balance within local water bodies, supporting the Group’s broader urban biodiversity agenda. The Group also organised “Let’s Protect Our Earth” Recycling Drives at KL East Mall and Ara Damansara, reinforcing public awareness of responsible consumption and waste management.

Anchored on its Purpose to be a Value Multiplier for people, businesses, economies and the planet, Sime Darby Property’s CSR initiatives reflect the Group’s commitment to delivering positive outcomes that extend beyond its developments, creating shared value for communities it serves.
These collective efforts underscore Sime Darby Property’s role as a responsible and purpose-led developer, where progress is measured not only by what is built, but by lives positively impacted.
